From the port of Piraeus there are ships departing regularly for Ikaria and the route with stops at other islands takes about 10 hours. The island’s capital, Agios Kirikos is one of the two ports of Ikaria. The second port is Eydilos. Ikaria has ferry connections with Piraeus, Chios, Fournoi, Kavala, Lesvos, Limnos, Naxos, Paros and Samos. There is also an airport, in the southeastern tip of the island, at Drakano promontory. It is 12 km from the town of Agios Kirikos and it is able to accommodate only light aircraft.
